He began mowing neighbors’ lawns and washing their cars when he was eight years old, and he soon began to cultivate a dream of owning his own business. After serving in the United States Navy and working as an entertainer, Harold D. Rose, Jr., achieved his dream in 1990, when he launched Homies Cinnamon Rolls. Since that time, Harold Rose, Jr., has led the company to widespread regard and popularity. Homies has earned two feature mentions from Baking and Buying magazine, which has also ranked the company in top place, above the well-known Cinnabon brand. In addition, ESPN honored the company with its five-star Treat to Eat rating, while a number of local television channels have spoken out in praise of its charitable efforts. Under Harold D. Rose, Jr.’s leadership, Homies Cinnamon Rolls of Las Vegas has sponsored the San Diego Chargers’ blood drive as well as fundraising efforts by the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Similarly active on a local level, the company sponsors the Junipero Serra High School football team and youth baseball teams in San Diego, California’s Tierrasanta community. Las Vegas charities that Homies Cinnamon Rolls has been involved with include: Chet Buchanan 98.5 FM KLUC in the radio drive, donating bikes every year.
